It tells you nothing you didn’t know already, or certainly ought to know.

It tells you people are very angry with Israel for the way it has behaved. Both prior to the Hamas atrocity and especially in what is regarded as the disproportionate response to it. Add to that the unrestricted settlements in the Weat Bank.

Nothing whatsoever to do with anti semitism. It’s all about the current Israeli government and their hard right politics.

Why does Eurovision invite an Israel but not a Palestinian entry?

Why does UEFA invite an Israel team, but not a Palestinian team?

It can't be their public, according to yougov their eurotracker shows support for Israel throughout western europe has plummeted in many cases below 10%.

It's because Israel are part of the European Broadcast Union who organise it. Australia are members too for some reason so they can enter as well.

2 years running, Israel has put forward a huge campaign to get everyone voting for Israel.

There is no comparable campaign NOT to vote Israel or any competing country.

Although I suspect much of the huge swing to Bulgaria was a "no" vote for Israel.

Oh, and you forgot the word "elites" in your final sentence.
 
I don't care about the Eurovison but I do care how much it costs the BBC. The beeb are very secretive (why?) over how much they contribute but conservative estimates put it at around £25m to EBU.

All so we can then be insulted by the rest of Europe.

The BBC either needs to demand reform of the finances or throw in the towel. It's simply not value for money.

well, your darned if you do, and darned if you don't.

RTE decided to boycott the Eurovision.....to protest the participation of Israel. To much consternation from the non-brainwashed members of the public.

A boycott ? an even worse option than your suggestion, in my humble opinion.
 
I apologise for having my dinasaur sexist 1970’s head on, but at least a quite nice looking young lady with an ample bosom won it this year instead of some non-binary or bearded woman freak😇😀
