D-Day May 7th Local Elections

Among other manifesto commitments, was not growing the Economy one of their central pledges??
I'm not encyclopaedic on manifesto pledges how can growth ever be promised it is a global event not within the gift of any government,a very puerile post, any growing needs to be done by you hopefully up. 😆 😆 😆

You may not be able to promise growth, but creating the conditions for the economy to thrive must be central to any government's programme, because without a robust economy any government will be severely constrained in pursuing its programme. I think what was meant is that this government did indeed promise to focus on economic growth, but it has become clear that they don't understand what that means in practical / policy terms, and even if they have an inkling about it, they are prevented from implementing any appropriate policies by the left wing of the party.

One has to ask how?

These are local council elections and quite how a Reform led council coils place anything in an area run by another council makes little.sense.

These are going to be interesting elections I have little.doubt that Labour will be destroyed across the country and suspect they will actually end up.taking control in Wales. But that could be potentially a real issue for them and for the Greens as this could highlight both their inexperience in power and also that some of their economic polices may not work.

It's a while until.the next parliamentary election so this may be either make or break for Reform and equally the Greens.

New parties have to be at the sharp end to see how it works. Albeit many people will accept trial and error than the same old shite.

Labour were and are a known party.
Socialists and thieves of the working class. That’s my point. People knew this and still voted for them. f***ing idiots 🤦
That's not a point it's a point of view.

Every party seeks to shaft everyone they don't think will vote for them and equally seeks to court votes by promising to the moon and stars and delivering zilch.....

Reform could equally be the thieves of the working classes as Nigel is about as much a Man of the people as the average public school educated multi millionaire.....

A sad indictment of our political system.

The sorts of policies that you support damage economic growth.

Polanski is one of the really bonkers anti-semitic Jews. Doesn't seem clear if he is adherent or just uses his Jewish history as a political instrument. His vicarious support of Hamas would indicate he is not firing on all cylinders.

I was in a quandary as to who to vote for. I am a lifelong Conservative but the current mob's right wing views no longer co-incide with my own. Reform are too inexperienced and probably even more extreme but my problem has been put back as our election has been postponed due to the sudden death of the Labour candidate

You sound like the sort of Conservative that they could do without.

Yet another hectic day for me as I undertake my duties as an active member of the Conservative Party.
You will be delighted to be informed that my priority is steadfast support for my party with Election Day approaching as opposed to partaking in debate on the cherished HOL ! 😍

Kemi Badenoch is much better at PMQs and seems be enjoying a least worst compared to political leaders.

Meanwhile, the most popular party leader does not get to challenge the waste of space that is the Prime Minister.
Badenoch can't make up for the Tory betrayal.

Vote Reform.

Do you really think so? Kemi is a disaster. Her questioning is poorly scripted and she struggles to adapt to the responses she gets.

Mind you PMQ's is despite every leader for ages claiming it is a serious part of our accountable democratic process, is little more than a slapstick pantomime. And that comment applies to every party.
