Crystal Palace XI: Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Canvot, Munoz, Lerma, Hughes, Mitchell, Johnson, Pino, Strand Larsen.

Subs: Benitez, Sarr, Mateta, Clyne, Kamada, Sosa, Riad, Devenny, Cardines.

West Ham XI: Hermansen, Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Disasi, Diouf, Bowen, Fernandes, Soucek, Summerville, Pablo, Castellanos.

Subs: Areola, Wilson, Traore, Todibo, Magassa, Wan-Bissaka, Scarles, Potts, Kante.

Poor Strand Larsen - trying to feed off the scraps of Lerma's awful passes. Then Matera comes on and gets Sarr and Kamada to feed him and looks like a hero.
I have a feeling the first half will be plop.

Let’s hope that midfield and forward line up does better than against Newcastle. JSL getting worse service than in the Slaughtered Lamb

Sarr isn’t really a feeder - he’s more typically the one being fed / does the running in behind etc. And Kamala feeds no one - 2 assists in 2 seasons is it? Wharton is the name you’re after and unfortunately we’ll miss him yes.

Got a feeling Pino could get bullied out of this one.
I really really want Johnson to do well. Just want to see him involved/interested/visible.
Pino. Probably: it's not a Conference game
Johnson. V unlikely. One goal and no assists v Hammers in 6 PL appearances

Hoping to keep it to a minimum of one goal deficit by the hour and then bring the cavalry on

I agree. He needs something to ignite his season because he's looked lost so far. Let him chase a few long balls or hang around at the back post or anything other than whatever he's supposed to have been doing.

Kamada has played well recently and is more the pre-assist player. Moves the ball quicker than Lerma or Hughes. Awful assists stats I agree but you need someone to keep the ball moving - as per the cup final goal.
He'll be gone soon and people can find someone else to dig out every match. Even when he's benched he's still "Teacher's Pet".
My point was the starting line up does nothing for JSL. Sarr would at least be a foil, take defenders away. They'll probably leave Johnson unmarked based on his recent outings.
Also agree Wharton is a big miss but try to be less condescending- there's a good chap.
