A naive comment.
Its obvious that this is yet another attempt to undermine and erase our history and at the same time avoid offending anyone, particularly the usual minorities and the terminally offended.
What other reason would you have for replacing Churchill with a badger? No one baring a minority would approve of that.

I can understand your mindset on this matter.
Apropos 'Badger' they are of a black & white hue. Perhaps a 'Polar Bear' was out of the question.
To my mind Britain’s banknotes should feature the people who shaped our country and our history.

I would take your point if Churchill was replaced by notable members of our minority - see for instance the current members of the Order of Merit (and compare to illustrious former members).
However, sticking a hedgehog on was probably designed to offend no-one. If they (whoever "they" are?) are guilty of anything, it is trying too hard to steer a middle course.

To be fair, badgers have actually shaped the country much more than King Charles or most of the other parasites.
Much of public footpath network started out as badger routes through ancient forests.
