Back 3 with no maxence or lerma

Canvot will play if Riad can't handle 2 games a week and Clyne must be an option for the other slot .

Canvot has shown he is more than capable even if he has got a mistake in him .Clyne is Clyne he wont let us down and Richards will step up and be the leader we all know he is .If all fails we have Hendo.

So no worries . I'm more concerned about how we are going to create chances

I suspect that Lacroix will play today.
In his pre match conference Glasner indicated it would depend upon how he was able to train in the lead up to the match i.e didn't rule him out.
For me his presence is key as none of the other options look comfortable in the centre of the back 3.
Wolves have quick players who are adept at counter attacking at pace and we need to be wary of leaving space behind our full backs for them to attack.
A game for Munoz and Mitchell to sit 15-20 yards deeper if we are going to persist with a flimsy midfield.

But yes, a back four and a front four:

Hendo
Munoz Lacroix (based on comments) Richards Mitchell
Wharton Kamada
Sarr Johnson Guessand
Yves Saint Laurent

Back 4 anyone? 😊
That has always been an option especially when we have been short of centre backs . Glasner says it doesn't work though ............I would have thought thats his job , to make it work .

But we are where we are , a coach that wont change ,a coach that I'm sure would be considering it if his job depended on it .

For me, that's the Frankest De Boerest of comments from him. Our terrible run came from having two key creative players out (injury and AFCON) that were absolute key components of the formation Glasner didn't want to change. A good manager would have gone straight to a back four without those players in my very humble opinion.

I’d put Canvot in midfield he can run can take on players he needs a chance to prove himself

I hope I’m wrong but I don’t want Kamada or Hughes to be making me keep swearing again & again

now we have seen them together i don't think we can play both Riad and Canvot in the same team.
Both are young and inexperienced and have a tendency to rush in.

Riad has been out for 18 months so needs to be reintegrated slowly and will not be at his best until next season. I was amazed OG played him on Thursday as the Wolves game was always the more important. Obviously no one could predict that Lacroix would go off injured, so he probably stayed on longer than OG wanted, but to say post match that he wasn't sure he had 2 games in 3 days in him was a bizarre comment, as he picked the team.

Other than the stupid booking, which was shocking defending, i though Canvot was ok yesterday and going forward he looked ok. However, he still makes me nervous and is a long way from being a regular performer.

It appears Lacroix's injury isn't too bad , which is great, although Richard's took a bang to the head late on yesterday and the cut might require stitches.

Surely Thursday is the perfect game to play a flat back 4 with either lacroix or Richards with one of Riad or Canvot, probably Canvot so Riad is fit for next weekend.

For Man U i'd go back to the back 3, with hopefully both Lacroix and Richards fit.

However, if Lacroix and/or Richards get injured before the end of the season we are in serious trouble.
