It was fresh news, now it’s not.I noticed that when this thread started the FA cup was mentioned a lot. I don’t think it is in any or very little of the last 3-4 pages. That is telling about our feelings towards OG.

If we win tomorrow we’re not . If we lose tomorrow we are.Leeds, Brighton both winning, currently lost two positions and down to 15th. Who said we weren’t in a relegation scrap?

It’s been flat all season and is likely due to the lack of wins.I share your sentiment ,it might not be a toxic atmosphere but I expect it to be a bit flat

Thanks for explaining that to me.If we win tomorrow we’re not . If we lose tomorrow we are.

Yes sacking the manager isnt the solution in itself you have to bring someone else in and like you say a number of considerations. They may have their no.1 candidate lined up already but perhaps they are not free until the Summer etc. I hope we beat Wolves tomorrow which will be give everyone a temporary lift. But I think Wolves will win and OG will be sacked on Monday.None of us know much for certain but it does make you wonder what the specific rationale is for the Board to keep him on. Common sense would point to results, OG's demeanour, and the less than comfortable league / European competition positions as reasons for moving him on.
It does cost money to fire managers and their entourage but a few million with such little left on his contract is surely not the only factor here.
There must be some combination of the following at play:
1. Financial cost of firing him.
2. Net pros and cons of getting a temporary manager in now compared to keeping him.
3. New manager is lined up but not available until the summer, so it makes sense to keep status quo if possible.
4. Or new manager not identified; better the devil you know at this stage in the season.
5. Precedent needs to be set that if someone spits their dummy out that does not guarantee their way to the exit door.
6. OG is considered the best chance of winning in Europe this season.
I think some combination of 5 and 6 are the factors keeping OG in his position.

With Brighton winning today, can I retract that comment, it’s now between us and us 🤣whatever we all think of Ollie now, good or bad, he’s got to go, give him his wish, it could all get a bit toxic tomorrow if things go wrong. It’s unsettling the club now and we seriously need a handful of points to avoid that last spot because on current form it’s between us and Brighton, no way are West Ham forest or spurs going down imo
Maybe paddy Mac has his limitations, but he’ll at least get the players galvanised and fighting again to hopefully scrape the points we need

Currently there’s no worse teams than us🤣It didn't take us long to get back to hoping for three worse teams did it.
