Glasner Out

I hate to say it but I am beginning to hope we get beaten on Sunday in the hope it will force Parish to sack him. Yes it will cost money to pay Glasner off but in my eyes a good 'investment' compared with the wasted millions spent on Nketiah and Johnson.

Parish seems to live in the hope that things can only get better when most of us think the opposite unless there is a big and immediate change of tactics.

We just don't know how to use all the possession we now have when we face teams who use our previously successful contain and break out tactics against us.

After Macclesfield and Burnley the writing is on the proverbial wall.

Thank you Pikester, not forgetting

The avalanche of transfer requests
The stolen 'lucky' pants , that were never found
The sacking of the tea lady
Silence from The Board
Silence from The Bored

This thread has indeed become something of a cliche.

We’ve debated / argued the whys and hows and apportioned blame to all and sundry.

It’s ceased to matter because it’s all happened and it’s done.

What happens next is what really matters
And no matter what happen next we will still be Palace and alway will be .

I was “happy” to write off December and most of January as we battled with injuries and limited squad depth although I would have thought we would have made a better fist of things.

BUT starting with the Nottingham Forest game the tactics, effort, anal comments and playing blame game bingo has angered me.

The enjoyment is ebbing away. I have firmly been in the Glasner stays due to his European experience but now change is required.

My vote is Thomas Frank based on personality, attitude and prior PL experience.

For the record I did vote for Roger Schmidt but reflections change changed my mind.

Pray tell us what were the nature of these reflections, and were they in any way akin to those of Marmalade or Dianna Ross and the Supremes?

And Ollie has to go doesn't he? It was great while it lasted but he's clearly a busted flush now. There's for and against arguments, but I do think if we had done our transfer business earlier, as he requested, we could have continued the good form that saw the record unbeaten run. He is tactically rigid but the upside of that is the understanding and team work it provided, that seems to have gone too now.

He suggested an immediate complete change in system and tactics with players drilled in this current system that cannot be done. You call that arrogance. Thats your opinion. I call it fact.
So you are saying you’ve never seen a team change tactics and formation and it work? Do you think the current system is working well?

The bit I struggle with here is that implication that no one had our system ‘figured out’ before the last 3 months.

We’ve played the same way for a couple of years. It’s not a particularly innovative or unusual system, and its weaknesses have long been known.

I really struggle with any suggestion that it’s only recently been ‘found out’ - I don’t think that’s a viable explanation for our drop in form, which I link much more to player availability and form/confidence.

Everyone knew what we were going to do last season, and they knew in theory how to try and stop it - they just couldn’t.
We don't play the same way, same formation, but change of style, it used to be more direct, Henderson and the CDs kicking, fight for the second ball, now its after you Claude, we never ever change the formation, player for player subs, i would have 2 or 3 times put Richards up front for the last 10mins if we need a goal, it wouldnt enter glasners head to do something like that, side to side passing, FFS

I understand the criticism of the phrase ‘figured us out’ but it is one that Glasner used about Guardiola. Of course we haven’t changed entirely and teams knew roughly what we would do but I felt like Glasner and the players were innovating within the system last and it doesn’t feel like they are anymore

The problem is that it's the past which is making many fretful over the near future even if nothing can be done now about those past results and performances.
We've looked clueless for a couple of months- it's not just a few weeks.
What's going to be the catalyst for change?
Glasner, if still in charge, will continue to play the same way and I can't see it suddenly clicking into place as negative as that sounds.
Our defence will continue to look porous and vulnerable at set pieces, our crossing in unlikely to improve significantly.
Glasner himself has admitted that he can't integrate the new players into the system.

To be honest it's sad looking at a broken man who gave us a day to remember , was hoping he could see it out in a better way , I will always shake his hand and say thank you , he deserves that ,

we as fans are hurting but no matter what he deserves our gratitude , and hope he goes on to help another small club have a day to remember ❤️❤️

Ahh, you dont agree with me. I'll try really hard not to let it effect my sleep. 🤣
Cry all you want, we'll not be going down which all you hysterical girls keep whining. If the club decides to part ways with Glasner thats up to them. Until/unless that happens getting behind the team is the best any of us can do but you seem to be too busy running around waving your arms around screaming 'we're all going to die' 🤣🤣🤣
You really are a nasty arrogant piece of work. If people don’t accord with your view you constantly resort to insults. Thank god for the ignore button, welcome to the list of ignorant idiots.

Glasner was all 'Self-Deprecation' in the Press Conference. He admitted that at present he is not good enough and cannot mould the new players into his system.
With the degradation in performances and results for some time resulting in us being involved in a relegation struggle his message could be interpreted as "Get me out of here".

Glasner Out is an interesting as really he was out the moment he left the restaurant after telling Steve I want a new challenge !

We’ve had this empty shell whose checked out & the players sussed him out & he’s undoing the good work he created

Yes I empathize good players left & so far the windows as a collective has not delivered a Prem styled/ bloodied player Barr 1

He has spoken twice against the board about him & team abandoned!
That was the real day any desire he had left disappeared

Change is Needed the players are not a team they look lost

Well I think you’ve proved my point. All the things you have mentioned are still on the table - and yes, what will be the catalyst for change ? We know who it won’t be because he’s admitted he ( OG ) can’t .

So - just my opinion - what happens next is more important than what’s gone on before

We need to win on Sunday …then he can sack him .
Could be a first after winning a game .

I’m with you on thanking him, but I think the issue is that he believes he is now entitled to a seat at the high table of management rather than another mid table team. Why oh why didn’t he just keep his mouth shut, do his job and accept our thanks before leaving at season end.

He has now done damage to the team, his legacy with the fans and his own coaching reputation. I’d be very surprised if a top team take him on having seen his tactical inflexibility first hand.
