I would always choose a tangible achievement over survival. Survival to no end is nothing and totally unambitious. This is sport, we should by trying to win (something). That FA Cup win was historic and felt like the sum of all my Palace supporting years - was fortunate to be at both of our previous FA Cup Finals. Some day we will end up in the Championship again, it's better to accept that rather than resist it. I would rather have silverware and a cup final victory to look back on, celebrating X years in the Premier League is not something you put in the trophy cabinet or look back on as a highlight moment. I've spoken to Wigan and Pompey fans over the years who have obviously fallen far from grace, and if that was the fallout of winning something they wouldn't change it. Better to have achieved something and paid the consequence than not.

Call me greedy but I'm having both
on dating apps, many pretty women say they want to be married with kids to "George Clooney or nothing"....and they often end up aged 43, with nothing.

C'mon Dogburger......The genie is ready with his magic wand.....choose one.

My choice : European silverware. Cos nobody remembers when Stoke or Wigan or Hull were a force in the Prem.

Big clubs that never win anything...Everton and until recently Tottenham (and then they sacked Ange Postelegoupoupolous ).

So for us, no podium champagne, no glory.

Relegation doesn’t bother me, been there done that, it would even freshen it up again, the premier league has all gone a bit stale, same old thing every year, we’re never going to push on and better ourselves, last year was as good as it’s going to get.
But also, I don’t yearn to win the conference, I’ve seen us play a few games in Europe at selhurst, with one more gaurenteed to come, so I’m happy.

So basically I’m happy to see how it all pans out, whatever will be will be, but if I did have to choose, let’s have another trophy before the rot sets in, which it’s probably going to do anyway because we’ve had our moment in time
If only "neither" was an option. Relegation and getting dumped out the cup.

I’m on this. Must be a couldn't care less i live in the garden of England thing. Or we are old enough to remember the really crap times. 👍

Absolutely. Go for the trophy every time. It was the best part of Glasners ethos to try and win everything, flawed as it was due to limited rotation. It got us an FA Cup, a Charity Shield, and a record breaking unbeaten run before it all went wrong. Worst case scenario we are owned by billionaires. They will want to get back into the trough asap won't they.

Anyone who thinks we’ve got a cat in hells chance of winning the Conference League hasn’t been watching us play for the last three months or the shitshow that is currently playing out
Fair point, I’ve been saying all season we won’t win it even when our form was better. A lots said about the poor quality of the competition, but we didn’t find it that easy and once you get into the round of 16(if we do) there’s some decent teams still in it, most of which will have a lot more European experience than us

I know one thing living where I do, there are times when I think sod it im not travelling up there to watch that s*** 🤣
For some reason I am more disinterested in PL football this season than I ever have been.

I don’t know whether it’s var or the money side of it or dis-harmony amongst certain players the manager and fans but I haven’t got the normal buzz for it this year, even though we are in Europe.

I think a big part of it is I just want Mateta and Glasner out of the club so that we can return to a close knit squad that play for each other and get rid of the egos.

Bouncing around between premier and championship seems to work for a few teams. Their fans look pretty content.
I get it can go like Leicester and a few but tbh. It’s only a game 😳

I was never a fan of Textor, but looking back I am now wondering what really is/has been going on at board level.
The whole sale of Textor shares to Johnson was shrouded in secrecy as are most things at top level at the club (and at most clubs).
As common or garden fans, we are not aware of most things that guides the direction of the club.
Most posters here in my opinion show a huge amount of interest in the club, but are kept so far in the dark on most topics that most thoughts are driven by wishful thinking as opposed to facts.
As football has expanded and evolved through the massive injection of funds satellite tv has created, the role of the football fan has been clearly re set as tail end charlies.

On current form, we will be lucky to win the play off two leg match.
Only 2 wins in our last 15 games (All competitions) and those were against Shelbourne and a Brighton team not in good form with supporters calling for the head of Hurzeler.
These 15 games of course included the debacle at Macclesfield and the total capitulation against Burnley.
Lamentable, woeful, abysmal and deplorable. I could use other derogatory terminology which would include profanity. 😡

Ain’t that the truth.

Like the bookies? They've STILL got us as 3/1 favourites to win the thing. Palace being favourites to win anything never goes well does it.
