Main Stand redevelopment thread

Just wondering how everyone felt about seeing the “noticeable works” we were promised for January. I had a look and struggled to see even a dislodged paving stone. I fear we have had the annual parish gaslighting in this respect

August 2024 ! The chat had begun How goes it ?

Thus has Parish asked the team to help with the Main Stand renovation?

Who’s looking after the Low Block ? Seems no one is

What about the leaky roof ?
Seems no one is

The toilet was no queues today
The crap was on the pitch

What! You haven’t noticed? The windows at Woodenspoon Close have all been boarded up with excellent chipboard. Amazing!

Another broken promise on the new stand. Same sh...t diffirent day from SP. My bet is no works between now and end of season
There would have to be an access route for vehicles to get materials in and out after the demolition of houses. It would have to sit alongside access for fans.

Could that be done while games are being played? If not, then nothing serious will happen until June. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Stevie P pushes along a little red toy bus beside the model of the new stand he has on his desk. "Brmm brmm the wheels on the bus go round and round!" Mark Bright looks on, bemused. "I'm in talks with Tfl and Sainsburys to have the 468 come directly up to the new stand, that way happy customers can pop in for their weekly shop and watch the game all in the same afternoon!"
"Good idea Steve."
"And then I'll get National Rail to extend the line beyond Norwood Junction up to the stand as well!"
"Excellent. Did Amazon deliver the bucket and spade you ordered?"

With where we are positioned today, who supports a £200m+ investment in one new stand, the majority of which will be long term debt. Do we wait to the end of the season (say 3 months) to see where we are or do we surge ahead committing to build contracts etc regardless.

People talk about the next level, increasing the size of the ground to 36K is the next level.
With all the restrictions on spending the only way keep up with other clubs is to increase revenue and this is the only way to it.

Take it the weather been great down there no rain or snow mmmm trying to start work in Jan feb is always risky ,
we are not building a house or breaking new ground its upgrading a old stand so delays happen , and I wouldn't be surprised if we missed finishing date , its part and parcel of building trade , money borrowed wasn't for transfers its for the ground only
