Honestly, what the contract I had signed required me to do to the very best of my ability. Playing poorly is one thing, not playing at all club when the club needs him now more than ever is another.

Failing that I’d be asking Glasner to give Uche a try, give me a rest and put me on the bench with less pressure.

Failing that if was having a mental health crisis and was incapable of doing that I would be asking my agent to issue an apology to the fans who have paid the wages of the contract I willingly signed.

Does he want to leave because the fans started shouting at him or are the fans shouting at him because he wants to leave?
 
JP is a disgrace. He obviously didn't learn anything from Marc's exemplary behaviour after his Liverpool transfer was pulled at the last minute.

He's lost his mojo and needs to be out of our club, and fast.

Understand what you are saying but forcing a player to play , when he steps on the pitch all he would be thinking hope i don't get a goal scoring chance in case I miss it , which means he will be to scared of making a mistake ,
that is no good to us , and we should have bitten the bullet and play uche earlier , not ideal but at least he would have been taken out the firing line , and he may have got some hunger back at least , like everyone on here its all guess work with lots of ifs and buts
 
I know they get paid the earth, and very few of us could get away with bleating about being 'in the wrong place' at work, but their job is not like our jobs.

It's common for players to not play when a transfer seems possibly imminent. It's realistic. The alternative is asking them to compete fully in a high speed physical sport in which injury is common, but somehow not have their performance affected by the implications. They are human.

Anyway, often the club don't want the player to risk it, or at least accept it will be hard for them to perform. It's all an unfortunate but inevitable feature of their being a self employed contractor in a ruthless industry that moves on at dizzying speed, and where life changing opportunities suddenly flash before their eyes in an unpredictable and unreliable way.

Plus, let's not forget that they play when carrying an injury pretty often. Mateta has. I can certainly forgive him.

Really? Even being below par he's in double figures again already. What makes folk so confident that a reconfigured forward line, even including Guessand and/or Larsen, would be stronger than what we have? It seems far from obvious to me.

I'm the first one to say that our transfers have to make financial sense, and he certainly must be sold by the end of the coming summer, but it seems as if some are more concerned with kicking him out regardless on some sort of moral principle.

According to reports, it is JPM who is demanding a move this window. If that's true then he doesn't want to be here anymore. Just let him go. The reported fee of £30 million my be seen as low by some but you are only worth what someone is ready to pay.
 
Fabrizio Romano reckons he's signing for under £60 k a week. An 8 k a week pay rise is hardly the megabuck numbers mentioned before. In football terms of course.

He asked didn't demand and asked if it could be done this window not must be done this window , if the correct offer comes in very different

Which is the most bullshit cover story ever.

If reports are to be believed, Forest are offering £9m more than Milan. If Mateta can make up that difference I say let him go to Italy, otherwise it's the 8.52 express to Nottingham, complements of Mary Knickers.
 
For me the only thing he has done wrong is ask for a transfer if possible midway through the window , if his heart was totally set on leaving for sometime he has left it late , would have thought 1st of January would have given him the move a better chance
