Reform

And if the SWP don't field a candidate in your constituency you are really screwed. 😀

True story when I was an election officer a woman came up and ripped me a new one because the Greens had not fielded a candidate. I tried to explain that it wasn't my fault but then realised anyone voting for the Greens is an idiot so don't waste your breath. 😀
😀

The democrats are lost and have been for some time.

I repeat and genuinely believe there would be a tsunami of support were they led by a charismatic white male.

Instead step forward a DEI candidate who cancel culture will embrace, who BBC correspondents actually w*** while gushing over their qualities but who nobody but a metropolitan core will actually vote for.notwithstanding the Grand Canyon sized open goal created by Trump.
Gavin Newsom a contender perhaps? I don't know but he has vociferously taken the fight to Trump and plays Trump at his own game on social media.

. . . & another one jumps from the sinking Tory Party ship, glug, glug, glug

There seems to be a distinct movement in western politics where left and right are splintering and getting further apart from each other. On the left you have Labour, Liberals and the Greens in varying degrees of 'leftness', and the Tories and Reform on the right. Each party now capable of splitting the vote of the others on the same side of the dividing line. Interesting times.

Honestly don't know why Farage thinks this is a winning idea. These MPs are remembered and despised from their last time in office.
That's a simplistic view.

Reform need Tory voters to vote for them. Many who voted Tory and were disappointed by their lack of conservatism will go to Reform, especially if the party includes the kind of Tories they were hoping for previously.
Politics is a lot about personalities and perceptions. Labour and Tory will want to paint this as Reform turning into the Tories, but this is really about real conservatives leaving a sinking ship of ineffective moderates to make a real difference under Farage.

A reasonable point. However I hope this trend continues of the Tory right defecting to Reform so the Liberal Tories (majority) can be just that. Maybe they will line up with the Lib Dems in the future.

People should be what they should be. Too many in both mainstream parties are pretending otherwise e.g. hard left pretending to be soft left and so on.

The public should not be cheated.

This reminds me of the Tory Remainers claiming they supported the referendum result when clearly they didn't.

Let's hope for a real shakeout in both parties.

Massive for reform. Kemi might even join at this rate 😂
The more of the “nasty party” wing leave the better. They were always the stain on the right that put off the middle ground voter. Now the Tories can concentrate on securing that middle ground, the place where the majority feel most comfortable. Most of us approve of capitalism combined with a social conscience. We are neither left, nor right.

Them joining Reform will taint Reform rather than enhance it in my opinion. I cannot see anyone not already being ready to vote for them being converted. I can though see many, ready to “give the untried a chance” being put off by the idea they are actually going to get back a bunch of failures.

Now it’s down to the Tories. Fight Reform on their ground and disappear or distance themselves and capture those in the middle who currently feel homeless.

The idea that right wing Tories joining Reform means that it's a party of Tory failures is desperate coming from the left.
Reform under Farage was always going to overlap with the Tory right. Enoch Powell was originally a Tory.

Braverman and Jenrick are now in a party that better reflects their views.

Who will people vote for?

Labour? They are an incompetent disgrace whose attempts to control free speech and deny people democracy are a shameful chapter in our history. They cancelled the Rwanda scheme, replaced it with nothing and have made this country unsafe for women by allowing illegals to roam free across the country. They have pandered to Islamists, made this country unsafe for Jews and covered up the mass rape of British girls by Pakistani rape gangs. It beggars belief.

Tory? They betrayed the country after Brexit under Johnson, allowing millions of unnecessary immigrants into the country and then failed to stop illegals under Sunak.

Liberals and Greens? Delusional.

Meanwhile, the left bleats about Reform. Apparently, they like what has happened to this country.

Obviously, Saturn boy finds the rape of British girls and attacks on Jews funny.

Well, that is what we would expect from him.

Of Boris Johnson’s ministerial team 'Reform' can now claim they have his former chancellor, communities secretary, culture secretary, attorney general, political secretary, skills minister, Northern Powerhouse minister, health minister, parliamentary private secretary, assistant whip and a Scotland Office minister.

I shall now concentrate my efforts on the 'Football' discussions.I have enough political debate outside of HOL !

Possibly.

Depends on the presence/absence of skeletons.

And whether the DNC will accept a non-DEI candidate. I predict they will overwhelmingly side with defeat over victory.

Tut tut Willo.

Gaining likes from leftists.

Like your socially liberal 'Conservative' party.

Cant really blame them. The vast majority of the parliamentary party were Remainers. What would you do if you passionately held a view opposite to the majority of the Tory rank and file?

You either resign, get culled, or toe the line as the Party pivots to capture the popular vote.

Also, was their position really as disingenuous/insincere as you suggest? They were, after all, voted in to represent the views of their constituents. Surely, this was our imperfect democracy at work.

All people who are probably close to your political position on the right of the party.

I'm sure Reform would have a place for you too. 😉
