Glasner Out

I think it clears the air somewhat. Should the players and manager want to raise their market value, they can play without reserve. Give a great account of themselves.
In the meantime, the club have another 4 months to line up a manager and replacement players. Over the Summer we can construct the new Main stand, cunningly bricking over Sainsbury's. (Might need another cleaning lady).
We've been through this stuff before, so we are plodding to mid-table obscurity , after we bomb out of our remaining cup interest. Plenty of time to get in replacements, but Palace will fck it up somehow. 😀

Thats the exact reason we DONT 'cut the cord. Not if we are serious about winning the Conference League. A new manager couldn't come in and get them playing his way in such a short space of time.
Look at the results in the Conference League …we have hugely underperformed…some of the results have been shocking. There is no way we should have finished 10th in a competition of that terrible standard. We have not taken it seriously at all so far let alone shown we are capable of winning it.

It's difficult isn't it. Do we cut the cord now for the sake of team morale? Or persevere and deal with it all in the summer? We might be able to get Thomas Frank if Spurs get rid. Or Glasner might still deliver another trophy if we get some players back and they are professional about things.

SP will get a lot of flack for not being ambitious enough in the summer, but it's exactly what happened in 91. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes in Sunderland tomorrow or having to decide what to do in the rest of this window.

Frank is a little fish in a big pond at Spurs. Don’t think he would fit our style.

Maybe he knew Glasner wasn't staying and didn't want to spend all the cash on players to suit his system.
Obviously just guesswork.
Maybe. I hoped when we signed Johnson right at the start of the window that we were trying to undo the damage of the last window early in an effort to get him to stay. But I guess it seems he had already made his mind up to leave.

It makes the final two weeks even trickier for recruitment doesn't it. Especially if Guehi and Mateta are off as well. Never boring at Palace is it. We all thought Macclesfield was the low point.

He did well at Brentford before his fish shrank though. He would definitely make us more physical I think. Some of the set piece defending has been laughable too. He'd get on top of that I think. We are going to need someone unless we go for the cheap continuity option in Paddy.

I'm not saying that players will immediately go with him (presumably to a top 6 or 7 team) at end of this season - I do think however, he will come back and raid the club for proven talent that he has coached and nurtured, like Wharton, Munoz...

If it's, let's say Man Utd we will unfortunately have to hope players don't do an Isak and down tools to engineer a move. Sadly wantaway players have the power over clubs in the modern game. Certainly didn't come good for Isak so maybe a cautionary tale but pragmatically, we just can't compete with the power and finances of the big fish. Getting a further half season from Guehi has been an exception to the prevailing tide. Best if luck to him
Daniel has form for going on strike to engineer a move. He did it at Genk when he heard we were interested. I dont see that happening generally though. Parish is pretty good about letting players leave that want to but the buying club must pay what we want. Most if not all Prem clubs now know Parish wont be pushed around.
Newcastle learned this to their cost (and embarrassment) when they tried dicking Palace around all summer thinking they could get Guehi on the cheap

Business end now though. You are very naive if you think we are not going to start performing in this competition once we get into the ko stage.

On a brighter note i would bet that Esse is delighted with the news .
Can’t help but think that that team picked last weekend was the best team for Glasner to success in the conference rather than for Palace to succeed in the FA Cup which is why I’m glad he’s off it clears the air and we move on. Guehi ahead with obviously want right either and he in hindsight shouldn’t have played

And now Brentford are pretty much the team we were during the early part of the season.

SP gave him a chance at the palace and if Glasner is not committed then just go. If the manager is not committed then i can't see the players being committed, Just look at last week's result.

I'm gonna be pissed if we don't do well in the conference
I dont get all this questioning his commitment. He hasn't walked out. He intends to see out his contract. How is that not being committed?
Deciding not to stay longer is has nothing to do with the commitment to his contract. Thats pretty ridiculous. Like saying unless he stays until the club no longer want him he isn't loyal. Of course he is. He signed a 2 & a half year contract and he is seeing that contract out.

Well he better start getting results or the fans will turn

I was saying to someone a few months back that all this success felt a bit unsettling as a Palace fan…. seems like in the last few weeks normal service has been resumed. Nonetheless, can’t take away that last May we won the FA Cup - thanks Oliver and Marc, and others that may now be on their way.
I don't fancy going back to being the butt of others jokes tho'.
