FA Cup 3rd Round Macclesfield

Don’t know about anyone else but I’m still so embarrassed and humiliated that I can’t even use one of my Palace mugs for coffee or tea. And, I’ve Just been to the docs for a blood test and a guy came in after me and he had a t shirt saying Always Red and Blue. The receptionist then took the piss out of him. I’ve not seen anyone other than him wearing Palace colours since Saturday. Please let me feel better and let this end!

Watch this and cheer up!

im in Liverpool territory and they started , I shut them down very quickly , by saying how bad are you we have beaten you 3 times this year , they stopped

Sensational admission from Macclesfield captain Paul Dawson on the @PeterCrouchPod: “There wasn't belief until I met their captain Marc Guehi and their assistant with the referee before the game.

“Francis Jeffers, our assistant, turned around to Marc Guehi and goes: ‘Is the pitch alright for you?’

“He [Guehi] goes: ‘It’s not a bit of me that’.

“I went into the changing room and put a bit more belief into the boys.” #CPFC

The artificial surface makes the defeat even worse IMO.

Back in the day, big clubs who were victims of 3rd round giant-killing on icy, mud-soaked January pitches would always trot out a line about 'not being used to poor quality playing surfaces'.

We can't even say that.

The general acceptance of losing to Macclesfield on here is truly astonishing.
I have already stated that the performance and result was totally unacceptable and I certainly haven't rid this debacle from my system.I was muttering about it to my dear wife today on our way to Horsham.
The players will depart for 'Pastures New' with memories of the game dimmed with time, us supporters will live with this until our dying days.

I dont buy the worst performance at all. Or result. It is a bad result and will put us on the map but tbh any publicity is good publicity. Internet searches sell merchandise and tickets. Every cloud and all that 👍
I remember some shockers as I am sure you do and everyone else can. The 9-0 at Anfield really hurt. There are others too that I look back on and still cringe. But... The reason I say its the worst result in our history is statistically it is.
No FA Cup holder has EVER been knocked out of the cup by a non league team
No 6th tier team has EVER knocked a top tier team out the cup.
No team 117 places below Palace in the football pyramid has ever beaten Palace period!
It was over 100 years ago the last time a non league team knocked out a top division team but even then they were in a higher division than Macclesfield. And the team that got knocked out then? Wolves. Who knocked them out? Crystal Palace!
These for me are the reasons why there is no doubt this is our worst ever result in a one off game.

I wholeheartedly concur with your esteemed opinion.
It was certainly the nadir of our history.

It's not acceptance, it's not dwelling on things you cannot control.

Honestly, what can be done about it now? We're now closer to the Sunderland game than we are the Macclesfield game. I live around the corner from the ground, if someone else wants to protest, I'll get involved, otherwise I'll just get on with the washing up before The Sarge gets home from work. Let me know.

so winning the FA CUP means nothing because we lost to macclesfield really Willo
With respect you have misinterpreted my sentiments.
Winning the FA Cup for the first time was a stellar accomplishment.
FA Cup holders losing to Macclesfield 117 places lower in the 'Pyramid' was an outrage, a disgrace and humiliation and the darkest day in our history.
A member mentioned "Outrage", I can assure one and all there was high-decibel outrage in 'Casa Willo' and beyond. My emotional cannons continue to be detonated with fury. 😡 😡
