Glasner to reject a new deal?

We don't want to just "survive" - we want to keep quality managers who can bring us more trophies and European campaigns.

If he is allowed to leave at the end of the season, we must be given a really good reason from the board why this happened.
I meant we will survive as a club the same way we do when every other manager and player that think they are too good for our club moves on to pastures' they think are greener . Its very naive to say " if he is allowed to leave " if he wants to leave the club has no option but to let him at the end of his contract.

It’s true, Tony Pulis, Dougie Freedman, fat Sam all failed miserably after leaving Palace and let’s not forget Steve Bruce the one I really dislike. In fact I am struggling to think of a manager who has done great over the past 50 years apart from TV!

The reason will be, he wanted to try his luck at a bigger club. It's not about money, he is already one of the highest paid in the Premier.

Glasner has said more than once a decision will not be made until he has time to sit down and properly discuss it in mid January.
I would love it if he did decide to stay. The added bonus would be how many know-it-alls thaty will look very very stupid
Pathetic, so if he says i am not happy with the January window, Parish can, rightfully say, didn’t know if he was staying, no transfers, only loans, until OG puts pen to paper.

Have you been on the Sherry again 🤣

I think we'll sign 2-3 players very early in january with another 1 or 2 to follow (one of which will replace esse who will leave on loan).
I also think ollie will stay for another season as we will qualify for europa league.

I know i've now cursed it and he'll be with the spuds next season now!!

Genuinely bored of hearing about it. With my club hat on as I don't give a f*** about anything else; make sure the replacement is done.
Agree 100 percent it's getting a bit like the Wilf will he won't he saga now , well that didnt end up too well for Wilf did it, I supose he did get Champions League football, then again if he stayed with us he could have had that also . The grass " or astro turf " isn't always greener . I wouldnt hold my breath either that a replacement has been lined up . all applications have been sent to info@cpfc.co.uk

The highlight of my Palace Supporting career was watching Palace winning the F A Cup for the first time. It was an absolutely incredible experience - and we are indebted to Glasner for that (And other achievements).

If he goes, that’s only a decision he can take. He will be a huge loss (like Eze & Olise), but as others have said, life at the Palace continues….

I don't know about the rest of you but I tire of being used as a stepping stone.

I can accept it with players because they are mostly mercenaries for hire....with exceptions.....If they are any good, they are here for a good time, not a long time.

When it's with managers you come to the conclusion that the only people who give a feck about your club are the Chairman + board and the fans.

If Glasner doesn't extend, get rid.

Loyalty goes both ways, it's been the best time but if you don't look at the future you'll quickly find yourself living for the past.

A new manager must have funds for players otherwise you are tieing one arm behind their back.

Well the club won't go under if a manager leaves, so that's an odd statement to make.

I'm asking WHY does he want to leave? Is it the board showing lack of ambition? Unless I've missed something, he seems to be pissed off he hasn't been given new players when we all know it's a small squad.

The board have no say in what OG decides to do. All they can do is present their best offer and then it is out of their hands. You can lead a horse to water!!!

In other circumstances this would be fair enough - managers get sacked all the time and it's not common for one to have the upper hand. Unfortunately the situation involves CPFC.

So it's just about his financial package? If so, you don't think the club should break the bank to keep him?

You don't think there are other factors?

I’m under the impression that OG will stay if he feels the club is moving forward. His publicly acknowledged disappointment with our summer recruitment has never boded well for me.

I therefore think that only a major spree this January would resolve this, and I don’t consider that to be likely although I have no insight whatsoever there.

We’re down to 8th in the table as things stand and seem to be falling toward a more likely end placement (having been in the top five briefly).

We won’t get relegated but I’m not hopeful of us finishing in a position that allows us to qualify for the Europa League at least or winning the ECL/FA Cup again.

So barring us miraculously winning the ECL (or FA Cup again), going undefeated for a long period like previously and/or making numerous quality signings in this window, I can’t see Glasner staying.

My prediction is for us to finish slightly above our traditional 12th, having made a couple of signings in January, with OG leaving once the season is done.

Roll on the next chapter after a quite glorious one which may have had the potential for more, but did deliver the one thing most of us had only previously dreamed about and some of us were lucky enough to be at Wembley to witness.

Because the end of his contract is coming up and he thinks he can do better its really simple , you cant make him sign a new contract if he doesn't want to . Yes its a paper thin squad everyone knows that , but if he's made his mind up and its only conjecture at this stage he will be going , who knows maybe he's been tapped up . I'm sure he done his homework before joining Palace and knew dam well from Steve's previous history with managrs he wasnt going to break the bank just to keep him happy .
