It’s with a very heavy heart….

…that I must announce that our beloved moderator becky has passed away.

I had a phone call from her goddaughter who informed me that she passed away yesterday.

becky was an absolute trooper, so dedicated to her job as a moderator here and always doing the job with such a wicked sense of humour.

Everyone at HOL towers will miss her dearly.

Her goddaughter said that she was an extremely organised lady and had written many a note for various people to be passed on to them on her passing. One of those notes was for me…

She said in it that she would expect an obituary topic on the forum in the typical HOL style!

Well, this is it becky - may you rest in peace and thank you for all you’ve done.

Her goddaughter mentioned that if anyone wished to know details of her funeral or to make a charity donation there will be details forthcoming.

If you would like to pass on any personal messages to her, please send them privately to me and I shall pass them on - thank you.
I don't know if it's been said here already, but it would be nice to feed back just how gutted the people of this forum are. She was very well loved on here.

yup. I felt the need to come back to this thread. Feels like we lost one of the Palace Family. Of course, i never met her, never saw her....but i felt her presence on HOL as a force for good.

It would be lovely if they put a portrait of her on the big screen before our next game at Selhurst.
More than the manager or the Players, a club is its fans. Becky was an Eagle beyond compare. She now watches our games with Staffie & Kayla. As they said in 'The Matrix'....When you die in the real World, you also die on HOL.

Only just seen the thread.

It's a shock.

Despite some thinking there's a clique at Hol, personally I rarely communicated with the back-end and so didn't know Becky other than what we all saw.

She always seemed like a reasonable voice to me and a well liked mod.

She will be missed.

I think she deserves some recognition at the next home match.

Condolences to her family.

whatever age she was, we need a 'One minute applause' at that point in the clock. Does anybody know her age ?
A minute applause, possibly at Leeds but certainly at our next Selhurst fixture.

I don't know. Obviously the comments on here pretty much sum-up posters feelings. We all knew Beccy from Hol, but there are a select few who've known her personally for many years. You'd have to trust their judgment. I wouldn't like something such as a minutes applause to be drowned out by opposing fans, or any announcement at Selhurst to go unnoticed because of Hol's limited audience. We are very much a clique, compared to the BBS, which has a much greater number of viewers.
I think whatever is announced we should give our backing to, but keep the suggestions coming.

I really think we should have some kind of go fund me to get a present for the family from HOL members.

very sad, I don't know her age but someone said she may have been over 80 which surprised me but gives the consolation of her having a decent innings. I like the idea of a tribute on screen at a home match. It's people like Becky who are the real substance of a football club. Great moderator, knowledgeable, humorous, always fair. RIP darling.

I think a banner with her name on it would be appropriate, 'Hol's Becky RIP' or something.

With the greatest of respect to Becky , and admiration for her help..
With her help a mate of mine a "Brighton fan" exceeded his expectations for his walk in memory of his mate ( A nurse at the Royal Sussex ) who passed with a brain tumour ....
My idea was that if I could raise £100 Neil (mate) would have to do the last stage of the "West Highland way" in full Palace kit with I love Zaha on the back...
With her help and support PALACE FANS exceded his expectations and I think raised about £900... Plus ..
In fact we contributed massively and more than Brighton fans ....
Because of her help I have a mate here thats learnt that we are a massive heartfelt , beautiful club that gives a fekk ..
RIP Becky .. Because of you and your help there is a Hospice in Sussex with a few extra donated pounds that will help their cause ...
Peace and heartfelt condolences.
