This week, A fairly famous travel Youtuber does our Manor. He specialises in gritty travel adventures. Kinda like going to the Favelas of Sao Paolo, Brazil, and getting his head kicked in - for fun. Its a burgeoning genre.

After 20 minutes below.

Oh my giddy aunt.
A slime-pit of unpleasantness and it would appear a dearth of estimable chaps and chapesses.
I have not trod that path for many years and I would sooner have bouts of colonic irrigation than return to those parts.
What an excreta cavity.
💩👎👎

Sorry, but this guy is a tw@rt. I live in one of the so called "better" districts of Vienna but if I walk around filming all people around me the way he does I assume that I would get similar reactions, of not worse ones. Have been to Croydon quite a few times and never felt unsafe, nothing menacing or stuff like this. But Ok, this guy wants to present the most dangerous places so anywhere he goes he will tell you that he found them.

Sat whatever you want about him but Croydon is the pits.
I'm truly trying to figure out how you have arrived at this conclusion, personal experience, hearsay or watching Germans on you tube? I go shopping there sometimes and have never had a problem. Yes it is a little untidy and a few would be gangsters hang around trying to look tough but you know they haven't got the guts to do much other than untie their own shoelaces all in all a pathetic bunch without aspirations of any sort, rather sad really.

Most of South London is now a hellhole.

I wonder why that happened?

What you and I find the pits is obviously different.

what a very unpleasant man .
I wonder what his home town is like ?

I have friends of old from the Croydon area who departed this vicinity over 20 years ago.
They had not been to Croydon Town since those halcyon days so decided to take a trip down memory lane before continuing to London.
They were appalled,dismayed and horrified.
....but rather like the Famous Five all got home safely for tea.I've just got over the almighty shock that you have friends. 😆 😆 😆

So was I after watching this bloke's video. How the town has degenerated since I last saw it.

I prefer to retain memories of the Kennards arcade and Allders. The new Whitgift Centre and the Royal Chinese restaurant where I had my first Chinese meal. Surrey Street market with all the chatter and atmosphere. Drinking in the Alhambra during my lunch break. Enjoying fish and chips, bread roll and ice cream for 10/6d in the Tavern in the Town. Seeing Pink Floyd in Fairfield Hall......and so much more. That's how I want to remember Croydon.

My word, this rekindles some memories.
Apropos the 'Royal Chinese' in George Street, I recall the owner 'Mr Man' who was a supporter of our club.
Allders 'Bargain basement', the 'Forum' Public House, 'Scamps' night club, 'Snifters' wine bar, 'Kembers', 'Dr Jim's' etc etc 👍
