UK Police and Judiciary out of control?

I see police are to be given new powers to stop repeat protesters. I think this is the breaking point of the removal of civil liberties. Now the police are even more politicised in being able to chose the protests they do not permit, and then intervene.

I just feel the inevitable slide towards a police state, where everything about the individual is monitored and action taken on words, speeches, protests and gatherings.

"The Home Secretary told the BBC the move was not a ban on protests but "about restrictions and conditions".

Mahmood told the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg programme she accepted Jewish people who are angry with the government can be justified in doing so."

So successive Government failures have led to this point. So blame the public and restrict their activities by police force. Disgraceful.

Yes. Almost all protests are a 'repeat' to some extent. The same themes come up again and again.

What on earth does any law abiding citizen have to fear from the use of new technology that enables the police to catch criminals?

They’re not interested in you or me. Unless we have something to hide. I haven’t! So they can “track” me all they like. I welcome it.

Our digital records are already held by government. It helps efficiency and improves services. What’s not to like?

There really are some dinosaurs in our urban jungle.

Not sure whether you are trolling or simply not paying attention to the world in 2025?

The police are already targeting law-abiding citizens, that's the point of the thread.

Unless you believe that teenagers waving Union Jacks or pensioners saying 'No to Genocide' count as criminals. In which case you are very much part of the problem.

Do they even pretend to be apolitical?

How would they explain being in this? About Us – Society of Labour Lawyers
It's aimed at a position of a certain poster whom you already noticed. I noticed myself that currently the law is pissing both left and right off with its overreach. However, as usual no actual crime is being dealt with. Unless painting lines on the pavement counts as crime prevention. How about catching the guys and dealing with them so they won't do it again? "Couldn't possibly sir. PA protest coming up and we're trying to stitch that Tommy geezer up for something."

Well a pal just got a £100 fine for dropping a fag butt and he has to go to court to appeal as it’s a criminal offence. It was actually on private land. WTF

our ruling Elites do seem to be balanced and apolitical in one sense : EVERYBODY seems to now hate them. Young and old. Christian & Other. Black and White. Rich and Poor..........everybody.

Yep, pretty much everyone now hates and distrusts them.
So the perfect time for them to try and extend their Orwellian overreach!

As cunning masterplans go, they either 1) have massively f***ed up the timing 2) need to introduce ID urgently for some reason or 3) We are all missing something.
The last 2 options make me nervous.
