Hey - been looking around but can’t find too much as of updates on these two.

Riad was due to be in the squad a few weeks ago but slipped and had a set-back. Has anyone read/heard of anything since? How bad is it.

Last I heard of Doucoure, he’s due back new year but same question again for updates

Riad apparently being managed very carefully. Wouldn't expect too much from him this season.

Doucoure I wonder if we'll ever see again. Has been a long time now. Can't be the same player, sad to think he was our best midfielder. Him and Wharton together could have been great.

Wait until AFCON starts, and then, hey presto, danaaaaaaa
Sh1ttest tournament in the world. It is not worth affecting the Premier League for. In a World Cup year exactly what is its point? No one will care who the Champions are except for that particular country. Then it will all be over depending on when they get knocked out of the proper cup.
Needs to be done in the off season and every four years. In different years to the European Cup or World Cup. I know it could be hot but they're African. It's not like we're asking Ireland to play in higher than 12 degrees heat.

clearly you are not African - maybe they say the same about the Euros.

It's a massive continent - the summer months vary depending whether you are in the North or the South.

As it's in Morocco this year it will be in their winter, although still quite pleasant temperatures. If it was in the southern hemisphere, like South Africa, it would be their summer, so your off season comment is misguided.

The fault lies with FIFA, the solution is obvious.

AFCON cannot be played at any other time of year as it will mean most countries cannot host it due to the weather. So play it in January and February as thy do now.

The solution for the clubs:

Doh, how about a winter break. Who wants to watch football in freezing January anyway. Stop having these ridiculous international breaks in August Sept Oct and Nov and have 3/4 international games whilst AFCON is going on.
